So, the question is – was Groupon’s first email step one of the joke or was it really a mistake that they’re doing a good cover job on?
Either way, these have been some of the most commented on marketing emails in recent memory.
I adore Groupon as a concept; I think the business model is compelling and I have discovered a variety of great local businesses to frequent as a result of my daily emails. Plus, I can almost always get a half-priced manicure/pedicure!
However, today, Groupon made a major marketing mis-step. Take a look at the email I received:
